Winter Sunday Fundays at Mill River Park – Stories and Activities for Families

Celebrate the wonder of the season with Winter Sunday Fundays at the Whittingham Discovery Center in Mill River Park. This year’s theme, Warming Up with New Adventures, invites families to embrace the cozy charm of winter through books and hands-on creativity. From December 14 to February 22 (excluding December 21 and December 28), join us every Sunday at 10 AM for a warm and welcoming morning filled with stories and activities that spark imagination and curiosity.

This family-friendly event is the perfect way to spend a peaceful winter morning together. Whether your child loves books, art, or simply exploring new experiences, Sunday Fundays provide an enriching environment for all ages. This week, families will enjoy a special reading of Rory, an Orca’s Quest by Sarah Cullen. This Sunday, join Rory the Orca on an unforgettable underwater adventure as he searches for the magical Northern Lights! Along the way, he meets a silly beluga, a sleepy polar bear, and a dancing fox, making new friends while chasing his biggest dream. With colorful illustrations and a fun, rhyming story, children will be swept up in Rory’s exciting journey and the wonders of the deep blue sea.
