Completing the core section of the Park.
This central portion of the Park along Washington Boulevard will be home to a range of community programming, from Alive at Five to our Bark Park, and is the last remaining piece of this puzzle needed to complete the core center of the Park. We continue to refine the planning of this space with public workshops that will take into consideration all of what this space means to the Park and to Stamford.
Federal Funding
In March 2024, Senator Chris Murphy and Senator Richard Blumenthal secured $4.5 million towards the construction of Community Commons for Mill River Park Collaborative! Read more about the funding that Stamford received here.
CIF Grant
- We are pursuing State of CT funding through the Community Investment Fund. We submitted our application on December 15th, after an unsuccessful attempt at the grant this summer. We met with the CIF team for feedback on our application, who were supportive of us reapplying.
- The CIF staff has reviewed our application, and plans to send their summaries to the CIF board on February 9th
- The Board then reviews these summaries and makes recommendations. CIF staff will be available for questions through March 5, and March 5 will be the deadline for the Board members to communicate their recommendations to the Board Co-chairs. The CIF Board meeting will be held March 12, 2024
- We have been in contact with the Stamford delegation on this project over the fall / winter to gain their support.
