Mill River Stewards Mentorship Program
Mentorship Program for High School Students
Inspiring Leadership in the Environmental Sector
The Stewards Mentorship program provides high school students the opportunity to develop skills related to workforce training, college readiness, and environmental literacy. Stewards will explore their own goals and create a road map to making their dreams a reality. The program combines weekly meetings with career exploration days, providing students with a well-rounded experience rooted in the heart of Mill River Park.
Key Program Areas:
Environmental Stewardship
Stewards explore themes of environmentalism through hands-on activities that connect individual actions to larger environmental outcomes. Students build critical thinking skills and gain the confidence to take meaningful action in their community.
Building Pathways to Environmental Careers
Through career days, students explore environmental professions alongside Mill River Park staff. From meeting industry experts to themed volunteer experiences, each career day prepares participants for future academic and professional opportunities.
Leadership & Life Beyond High School
Weekly workshops led by dedicated MRPC mentors give Stewards a supportive space to build leadership skills, ask questions, and plan for their future. Each session features a unique themed workshop designed to build confidence and help students navigate life after high school.
