Host your next party, meeting, or special event at a unique venue your guests will never forget – our Whittingham Discovery Center. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer sweeping vistas of the park throughout the building, and the Green Roof and Dudley Williams Community Room offer sunset viewing year-round.

WHITTINGHAM DISCOVERY CENTER RENTAL RATES

The Center is available for rental outside of education programming hours. All rentals include a designated Event Coordinator. Please inquire about nonprofit discounts.

Dudley Williams Community Room 

$500 base rate

Capacity: 36 people at tables with chairs, or 55 seated or standing 

Includes 1 staff member to answer questions, price includes 2-hour event time with 30 minutes of set up time and 30 minutes of breakdown time. Any time over this will be charged for an additional hour at the rate of $165/hour. This includes the room with full A/V capability, a sink, and access to a single bathroom. 

Classroom B (upstairs)

$500 base rate

Capacity: 45 people at tables with chairs, or 75 seated or standing 

Includes 1 staff member to answer questions, price includes 2-hour minimum event time with 30 minutes of set up time and 30 minutes of breakdown time. Any time over this will be charged for an additional hour at the rate of $165/hour. This includes the room with full A/V capability, 2 sinks, and access to a single bathroom.

Henkel Researchers World Classroom 

$425 base rate

Capacity: 34 people at tables with chairs, or 50 seated or standing 

Includes 1 staff member to answer questions, price includes 2-hour minimum event time with 30 minutes of set up time and 30 minutes of breakdown time. Any time over this will be charged for an additional hour at the rate of $142/hour. This includes the room with A/V capability, 1 sink, and access to a single bathroom off the classroom. This colorful fun space is perfect for kids birthday parties. 

Community Meetings 

Non-Profit and Community Group Meeting Rate: $100

The price includes access to one of our two classrooms or the multipurpose room for one hour of meeting time with 15 minutes of setup time and 15 minutes of breakdown time. There will be a staff member in the building, but this does not include a designated staff member. 

Roof Top

$1,525 base rate

Capacity: 64 people at tables with chairs, or 125 seated or standing 

Includes 2 staff members to answer questions, price includes 2-hour event time with 30 minutes of set up time and 30 minutes of breakdown time. Any time over this will be charged for an additional hour at the rate of $275/hour. This includes access to the Green Roof with full audio capability and a single-use bathroom, upstairs classroom is available for caterer use.

Exhibit 

$1,525 base rate

Capacity: 44 people at tables with chairs, or 125 seated or standing 

Includes 2 staff members to answer questions, price includes 2-hour event time with 30 minutes of set up time and 30 minutes of breakdown time. Any time over this will be charged for an additional hour at the rate of $275/hour. This includes access to the exhibit space, the amphitheater, main bathrooms, the reading nook, and one classroom for “back of house” use. 

Exhibit Space & Roof Top

$2,450 base rate

Capacity: maximum capacity of 375 standing 

Includes 3 staff members to answer questions, price includes 2-hour event time with 1-hour of set up time and 1-hour of breakdown time, any time over this will be charged for an additional hour at the rate of $275/hour.

This includes access to everything included in the Roof Top and Exhibit rentals, plus access to the upstairs classroom and bathroom as well as the downstairs classroom and bathroom. 

Whole Building

$3,250  base rate

Capacity: maximum capacity of 430 standing 

Includes 3 staff members to answer questions, price includes 3-hour event time with 1-hour of set up time and 1-hour of breakdown time, any time over this will be charged for an additional hour at the rate of $275/hour. 

This includes access to the whole building, including the Roof Top.
