Phase II: Middle Corridor

Stretching from Tresser Blvd. to Richmond Hill Ave. the Middle Corridor is an important next step in our efforts to extend Mill River Park south to Long Island Sound.  The project kicked off with the removal of dead trees and invasive species such as the Norway Maple.  Next there will be new grading and the reinforcement of the riverbank. Walking paths, thousands of new native perennials, shrubs and trees, benches and a horseshoe pit will be added on the West side of the river to complete the updates.

Current Work:

The existing rotunda has been removed, and work on the main low wall that runs along the new path has begun. The setting of the natural stones and the asphalt walkway that parallels the low wall is in progress simultaneously.
