Connecting people with nature
Mill River Park Collaborative is committed to conserving natural habitat and fostering environmental stewardship through hands-on education.
With 30 acres of reclaimed green space, Mill River Park’s thriving natural ecosystem in the heart of Stamford invites park visitors of all ages to explore native flora and fauna and build awareness of the balance between humans and the natural environment. The Collaborative also offers field-based education and high school internships to enhance STEM learning, foster environmental stewardship and help young adults learn about careers in conservation.
Explore Native Wildlife
Mill River Park provides a natural habitat where native trees, plants, birds, fish and other animals can flourish. How many can you find in the park?
Learn in Mill River Park
We provide first-class educational programming on science and ecology in the living classroom of Mill River Park and at the Park’s Whittingham Discovery Center. Our offerings for students of all ages align with Connecticut’s Next Generation Science Standards.
Mill River Stewards Program
Our summer-long high school internship program engages students in experiential hands-on learning, so they can build environmental literacy and job skills while exploring careers in conservation.
