Mill River Stewards
Paid Field-Based Internship Program for High School Students
Exploring nature – and careers in conservation
Mill River Stewards is a summer-long program for Stamford high school students. Through paid field-based internships, teens learn about urban park stewardship, environmentalism, and careers in conservation. Research shows that for students of all socioeconomic backgrounds, classroom learning combined with paid internships increases young people’s awareness of career opportunities and motivates them to pursue higher education.
